There are various advantages and also disadvantages of CR compared with the VFP Report writer.

Disadvantages:
1. It's difficult, if not impossible, to handle pictures referred to in a field from VFP data.
2. It is difficult (for pre 8 versions impossible) to let the users make their own reports.
3. Is in general a bit slower than the VFP reportwriter.

Advantages
1. Zooming reports from 25% to 400%
2. Subreports
3. Inline graphs
4. Cross tabs
5. Good runtime control on how and where the report is displayed and/or printed
6. Exports to various formats
7. Web enabled
