>OK, I have a group of files that an office clerk needs to choose from. I have done an ADIR() to get a list. I put the list in an edit box. It seems to me there has got to be a better way than her clicking on it there. What is the most efficient way for her to pick and click a file name?

Perhaps I do not fully understand the problem. You have created a list of files and load the data in an edit box. Is the user going to be able to select one or more desired files? Since you used the indefinite object "a" file, I gather you are saying one file and only one file from the list will be chosen. But I could be wrong.

If all that is required is a list of files I cannot conceive of anything easier for the user to do than click (double click) on one file if that is the one desired.

On the other hand if one or more files may be selected have you considered a “Move Box”, that is two list boxes with command boxes (with arrows) to add or remove the desired files from the second list box?
