Yes the application is Pegasus Opera II.

What I mean by client/server is that all the workstations have a local copy of the opera exe file on their local drives. This exe file will access the server files.

It was one of my colleagues that installed the application on-site but I do not know why she has only made one workstation point to the local exe file and all the rest point to the server exe file.

I am just wondering if all these workstation are accessing the server exe file that is the reason why the speed issue is such a serious problem.
