I don't think putting VFP runtime files does anything to validate Microsoft's commitment to VFP, it is a technical issue as well as a setup issue. It is very easy to get the 3 or so main VFP runtime files on any OS desktop or server, and most importantly, it can be done for the verion that is required for the application that is to use those. The release dates of new versions VFP are not dependent on the release dates of the upcoming verions of Windows, and this is a good thing for VFP developers.
