I'm happy to say that I have the Zeos Delphi tools working and I'm able to use them correctly. I can't say it has been easy but I can say it has been rewarding. I followed the Zeos instructions and that got the Zeos Access componets installed. But my biggest issue was understanding how they worked. My lack of understanding was a direct result of reading Delphi and Kylix books. The books I purchased were for Delphi 6 and Kylix. Both books used the dbExpress way of connecting to the database (mostly interbase). The Zeos tools are not compatiable with dbExpress. The Zeos generally follow the "BDE" way of accessing the database. But of course I never heard of "BDE" since I'm a complete newbie to both Linux and Delphi. Oh sure the books mentioned the old BDE way but nothing about how BDE worked. I was able to get a Delphi 4 book and that has helped alot.

Anyway thanks to all for the help. I am going to contact the Zeos people and offer to write up a small paper describing my road to success.
