Not so dumb. Just obvious once you already know. *s*

Find the default textbox in the properties sheet. (Or, right-click Grid and select edit, then select the column with the textbox for a short cut, then find the text box in the properties sheet.) Once it's selected, click on the title bar of the form you're designing (for example) and press DEL to delete the control.
