I've been thinking about this. If you really want the Fox story, why don't you just call David Fulton. His number shouldn't be hard to find. Try David Fulton in Washington state on Anywho.com. His wife is named Amy. I'd think he would be happy to tell you the history. Also both Randy Brown and Calvin on the VFP team know quite a bit about the history.

I don't know how you get in touch with him but Erik Christensen worked with David Fulton from the beginning at Fox. And don't forget Walt Kennamer. He was the comptroller at Fox and also wrote FoxDoc. He may still work at MS. A web search turned up this link when he was working on MS Investor.
