File > Preferences > User Preferences
There will be a list box with several preferences. One of them is "Make internet URLs into Hotspots"

On my demo Lotus Notes R5 version I have this checked, but the hyperlink does not look "linked" when I type in http:// or file://. Does this just work on the receiving end or should it look linked at my creation end? (I am not set up to recieve mail on my Notes demo.
