Thanks for the insight. I havent had that problem you mnetion. Since VFP5 I have been creating a timer to monitor for a certain type of file to exist. When the timer finds this file it will auto save all users work and then exit my application. This has been working for me ok. As you say, possibly other things affect timer object as well.
