You can change the Style property of a combobox to 2-Dropdown List. This way a user would be unable to type anything.

In any case I would like to prevent the user from leaving the combo box blank or typing something other than the values on the list and then proceeding. I would like to maybe set it to the value of the first item on the list if they leave it blank and if they try to type an invalid value. I don't see a property for setting that behavior. How do you limit the user to only the choices in your combo box?
