>>I haven't seen it yet. But that's one of the nice things about DVD versions, you often get a lot of additional stuff that you don't usually get to see. The Matrix is one example: the technical material at the end about how they did the slow motion scenes was really interesting.

>Way back when CDs were about to hit the market I heard similar things about them. Like they'd have extra OPTIONALLY playable 'tracks' (my word) with each number to tell things like the music's name, the entity playing it, the writers, etc. Never happened though.

DVD has also fallen very short from what was initially promissed. The subtitles cover just two or three languages, and there's maybe dub for one or two languages, some additional coverage - but not going further than the trailer (which is actually an advertisement for the movie you already bought - sort of pointless and looks quite like fillware). There are megabytes of space left, but they never get the idea of putting a bunch of web pages there with, say, reports on the premiere, critics, why not the full script etc.

They spent far more time designing the idiotic protection scheme (which prevents me from buying a DVD here and sending it home as a gift) than designing features for content. And, just like in the case of music on CDs, you can't get what you want. It's just Hollywood and more Hollywood. Can't find a decent movie.

My DVD broke after 18 months of intensive use (because I didn't have a regular drive), and I really don't plan on getting another one anytime soon.
