Perry;

No, in fact the Pub is the only business in that area that is not Asian. The only dark beer I can drink is Guinness. Others make me ill. I do not "drink for effect", but rather the taste. I like German beer Spaten to be exact! My friends from Northern Germany like dark German beer (ugh!) and call my Spaten "that water from the South"!

The measeure of a good dart player up here is someone who can drink more than one Guinness and still hit the wall!

By the way - I only drink Guinness and Spaten on draft. The stuff in the bottle is not for me! Guinness in the draft can is good though.
Tomorrow through Monday we will be in North Hollywood and L.A. in general. We will have to go to Alpine Village for Oktoberfest and have a few, as well as the North Hollywood Soccer Club.

Also going to raise the roof with my flamenco guitar with some professionals in Long Beach - my other life and one I enjoy!

>Just have to ask...Did you move there due to the proximity of the pub? If I wanted to walk somewhere and have a few, I'd have to drink saki or Asahi.

>I had a very bad experience with dark beer in college and have mostly stayed away from it since. But I did have a Guinness last year. I walked into a pub not too far away to get something to eat. The Guinness reps were there to lead everyone in a toast. Seems every year they send reps to as many pubs as possible at the same time to try and get more people to toast, then get an entry in Guinness book.

>>A pint is a pint but a Guinness is a bit of mist from heaven.

>>If you are in San Jose, give me a call - I am in the Sunnyvale phone book. The Pub is within walking distance from my home.
