Thanks for the help. It's alright because I'm still building in 6.0. However I find the same behavior in 6.0 when the grid record source is set to "" (the fix to the earlier problem you helped me with). It works fine when the recordsource exists but has no rows. I am working on a search form and I would like the user to be able to click on the grid header to select which column to search on before the query is executed.
