You have purchased the right to use. You have not purchased the software. If MS requires you to sign up for passport as part of the licensing, they can do this. MS is not charging you for passport. I don't see what your problem is here.

That you can't "see" what the problems are doesn't mean others can't or that problems do not exist. One has the freedom, so far, to not put up with them.
That is the difference between being a fan or a fanatic. Your zeal for MS matches my zeal for Linux! ;)

BTW, knowing Microsoft's track record and its declining net earnings, it is a sure bet that sometime in the near future the Web page listing the Passport license will be changed to include access fees, which you will, not doubt, gladly pay. Others will not.

>>I've never been a big Brian Livingston fan but I tend to agree with him on this one, especially on the Passport issue. I really resent having to sign up for Passport just to exercise my privledges as a MSDN Universal Subscriber. I paid hard-earned cash for that subscription; Microsoft is the supplier and I AM THE CUSTOMER, a concept they don't seem to understand.

>>I received the released versions of XP in the latest MSDN shipment but I'm not going to rush into installing it. I have had good results with W2K and see no reason to switch at the present time.
