This is approximately line 44 of an 8.5 X 11 page. I would love to use the report writer to keep everything consistent in the application. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I can't seem to control _plineno. After the advise for the cheque, the cheque info itself is printed immediately following regardless of which line the printer is at. I would have to ensure that the printer starts printing the actual cheque info. ( the Pay to stuff that is actually on the cheque ) at the same line number for each cheque, because these are being printed on pre-printed cheques with the bank number already encoded on them. Any ideas?

I once did an app that printed checks in this fashion. The way I got the Report Writer to do it was like this. I had account balance info fields in a Title Band, I had a blank Detail Band set to the width of space needed between Account info at top and actual check at the bottom of page (this took alot of fiddling with to get right), I set the Constant Band Height on for the Detail Band, then put the fields for the actual Check in a Summary Band. Granted I printed alot of test checks before I got it all laid out right, but I didnt have to mess with _plineno or any other report form variables this way. HTH
