What about line of sight with the receiver, distance, local networks or hardware, wireless products running close such as cell, cordless phone, cordless phone receiver? Try changing the channel of the cordless phone (scan)
What can IBM possibly consider *normal* about losing keystrokes?
By the way, is this your ThinkPad? If so have you been able to get a ps2 keyboard to work on it? I haven't but IBM told me that if I put a Y connector on the ps2 port, a keyboard will work. I haven't tried this yet.
