Short of creating a DSN in the ODBC Connection Manager, I don't know how you could accomplish this. Whenever you modify a remote view, a connection to the server is required. That's why if you change a field name on the server, you can no longer modify the view. If you were using SQL Pass Through instead, you would not have this problem.

I guess the question I have is why are people other than those who need to know the login details editing views?
