(Sent again as UT insisted that "username not found" after I'd written it)

Dear All,

We currently use QuickBooks via pcAnywhere (we are located in Scotland and England - hey, does that make us a multi-national?), which is less than ideal. Firstly I have to dedicate a machine to this and secondly, those in the company who are not used to seeing all accounting info (i.e. everyone except myself and the accountant), get a bit panicky when they encounter the full QB front-end, All they really need to do is enter expenses, credit-card charges and create invoices.

I looked at the XML extensions to QB, but guess what, they are only available for the US version (HOW MANY TIMES must I hear that?). Then I looked at Oracle's small business on-line accounting, where they also host the data - that looked ideal, but guess what? (hint 'US' comes into it). I tried pestering them etc., but no joy - there's nothing like hamstringing your business, I always think. MS are you listening? - business opportunity for .NET here, I think.

So, I'm looking for an accounting package or service suitable for use in the UK, that either has an internet front-end or is in VFP and/or that I can write one for (I can do this myself via West-Wind). It needs a simple front-end for the majority of the users but enough power elsewhere for the grown-ups.

Any hints or suggestions most welcome (by the way, I know I can import IIF files in Quicken, but that has to be done by hand, which is no good, I'm afraid, and the ODBC dirver available for QB is read-only). If anyone has a package that they've written and want it Internet-enabled, I'm quite willing to do that to get this solved (and even purchase the software as well).

Regards to one and all
