there are several advantages of using a DBC
one is the Relational Integrity rules will be enforced by VFP
automatically (even when u chage data manually in desing time)
and u can set the ralations in the DBC, also u can have default values
for fields.
another thing using a DBC lets u have is VIEWs which are very powerful

IMHO the database concept (intrudoced to VFP with .DBC) was something long missed in foxpro - and now that it is here i wouldn't think twice before using it :)
