No you don't need to take the course, all the material is available (including course notes) for purchase directly from them.
We have successfully converted a 2.6 app into VFP, 150 screens, 300 prg's using MT.. it's a bit of a pain (unreliable at times) but it did the job.
Only problem is now that Chuck Urwiler (sp?) has left the company so I guess the support will be even less responsive than it was!
