SQLPrepare works for such backends as SQL Server. For VFP it might not work because in VFP it is not a real Server, it is just access to VFP database through VFP ODBC driver. So there might be no such thing as pre-compiling of SQl statements for VFP ODBC. Just try to do not use SQLPrepare(). Even if SQLPrepare() works for VFP ODBC in certain cases, I doubt it give any benefits.
