I'm assuming you want something to replace the *!* default; something that will appear at the beginning of each commented line.

I've got a routine in my startup code that, using REGISTRY.PRG, updates the EditorCommentString value. While I can change this value on-the-fly using a reset routine, the original value remains in effect until the session is over.
