The X will fire QueryUnload. Release doesn't fire unless there is a call to it. Then if the QueryUnload is successful, Destroy of the form, Then Destroy of the objects. Finally, Unload of the form. There are other probably events which fire but I am not sure which. (Like Paint which fires frequently while a form object is running). That's why I suggested you never use it if you require control over the form. AFAIK you can get away with never needing to put the code in it if you resolve to call QueryUnload all over your application where control is required.

If I place code into the release method only It doesen't seem to be called? What events are fired when the x is clicked???? Release doesn't seem to be one of them or I've had one to many and am doing something silly.
