I have a client w/an NT network.

Three of the of the new computers on the network are running Windows ME. When they start my app, it takes an EXTREMELY long time to open the various files (quite a few files are opened at start up time) - longer even, than much slower computers, w/less than minimal memory, running W98 or W95.

Once the app starts, everything runs very quickly on the Win ME systems.

Another user is running Windows 2000, w/a slower CPU, and it starts up very quickly.

Are there settings in Win ME that can address this problem? ANy other suggestions/ideas?

Second question: how would one do a search on this problem on the UT? I can't search for "Windows ME," since "ME" is a 2 letter word. And, oc, a search on "Windows" returns > 8,000 messages. ;-)
