this code appears to work consistantly on several configurations:
on key lable f12 do control_c


program Control_c

keyboard "{ctrl+home}"
doevents
keyboard "{ctrl+A}"
doevents
keyboard "{ctrl+c}"
wait 'x' window AT -20, -50 nowait
keyboard "{ctrl+end}"
Give it a try on your system
