I copied this thread on to one of my developers who was tearing his hair out with the same problem. The fix mentioned here didn't help him. He finally found out that you need to make sure that the status bar checkbox is activated (in the VFP Tools/Options/View screen). Of course, he applied the patch Kevin mentioned as well, so it may be a 2-part fix.

Kevin, if this comes up again (as it surely will...), this may be a good pointer.
