Dennis,
I would strongly recommend upgrading to VFP 7 if you're going to internet enable your software. I noticed that you work at an educational institution so you may qualify for a very low upgrade price under Microsoft's education discount program. For non-educational users the upgrade price is approximately $300.
There a variety of 3rd party products that internet enable VFP applications. If you're 100% committed to ASP, check out
www.activevfp.com (requires VFP 6 or 7).
If you're more flexible, check out products from the following vendors. Note that all these vendors have free 'try before you buy' versions for you to fully evaluate their software without without any upfront costs.
-
www.west-wind.com (Wconnect and IPstuff)
-
www.foxweb.com (Foxweb)
-
www.prolib.de (look for info on AFPages - Active Foxpro Pages)
There are also some newer internet enabling products available in the downloads section. And, if you have lots of time and no money, you can always study the sample Fox Web code (not to be confused with entirely different product from
www.foxweb.com) that ships with VFP 6 and 7.
I also recommend purchasing the 'Building Internet Applications using VFP' book from
www.hetzenwerke.com. Great resource!
Good-luck!
Malcolm
