You can remove the file association as J says but you shouldn't have to. I checked my own PC and I have a file assoication so that if I click on a file in Windows Explorer WinZip opens. However, in Internet Explorer mine comes up and asks me if I want to open or save a link that points to a .zip file. So are you clicking on a link in a web page and it is automatically opening? That sounds very strange to me if that is the case. Myself, I never click a link of something I want to download; I always right-click and choose Save As. Less hassles that way as in the case of a .PDF that automatically opens based on the ActiveX design.
