I am having two problems with an application that is run as an .Exe and would appreciate any assistance that can be offered.
First of all, the background of the problem:
For the initial installation I used Refox and branded both the appname.exe and VFP500.DLL. At that time I did not know whether the VFP500.DLL should have been branded or not. The only other .DLL or .OCX, etc that I registered or included was MSMAPI32.OCX. The application at that point ran fine.
Today, I am trying to update the client and I have two problems:
1.) If I do not copy VFP500.DLL to the root directory of the application and run the Setup Wizard, VFP runtime returns a message at the client that the application was compiled with a previous version of VFP. If I do copy VFP500.DLL, brand it and run the Setup Wizard the existing VFP500.DLL at the client is not replaced when I execute the SETUP.EXE. If I manually delete the VFP500.DLL at the client and then run the SETUP.EXE, the VFP500.DLL from the installation CD is installed properly and the application runs.
2.) I have added the monthview OLE control to the application (MSComCtl2.MonthView.2). I have copied the MSACAL70.OCX to the root directory of the application and flaged it as an ActiveX Control in the Setup Wizard. After installation at the client the error 'OLE control code 0x80040154. Class not registered. OLD object is being ignored. Record # 6' appears when I try to click on a command button that calls a form that uses the control. I have also registered the OCX manually, but that does not solve the problem.
Thank you in advance for all help.
