I think the command was called broadcast as in

BROADCAST messagetext

And BROADCAST /? gave the command switches

I could be wrong ...

>I have no way of knowing whether this is still supported or not but there used to be a command line utility in NetWare where you could send a simple message to one or more users....having said that, perhaps someone else can fill in the details of what that was.

>>Hello All,
>>anyone know of a way to broadcast a message to one or more Win9X / Win2K workstations residing on a Novell network ?. From within my VFP apps I manage it by, setting a timer, which on firing, checks for the existence of a text file ( or such like ) and pop up a MessageBox on the workstation if the user is flagged ( in a user table ) as a message recipient, I would like to be able to do the same whether the user is running a VFP app or not. I've tried WinPopup with limited success ( user reads message and closes it ), any advice gratefully received
