Have you looked at the QuickFill function that is available in the download section? I use it for exactly this type of application.

The user types in 'F' and if there is a match, Quickfill types in the rest (on a blue background.) The user can tab to accept and go to the next field, or continue to type whatever they want.

I modified the Lost focus so that if the user types in a new entry, it is added automatically to the look up table so the next time it automatically finds the entry.

Works neat.
