Have you obtained a copy of 7.0 yet? If so, does your application compile and work? If so, I would suggest deploying now. If not, I would suggest upgrading to 7.0 now and testing the app now.

As Ken said, In order to take advantage of the SP, you are going to need 7.0 anyway.
