Hi Jerry,

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. My understanding is that having to go through a firewall to get at and retrieve information from 'outside' web services should not be an issue. But I'm not so sure about that because I can't explain why I could do this from my home P.C. and can't do the exact same thing here at work - where I do have to go through a firewall ...

The fact that the methods of the Web Service are exposed to you through intellisense I don't think is relevant. When you register the Web Service in VFP 7, it stores the method names in the foxcode table. The fact that the methods are available when writing code doesn't necessarily mean that you'll successfully connect to the web service when you run the code.

Actually, all the web services I attempt to connect to show their method name when I type the "objectname.". Do you get the same results?

>>I FEEL YOUR PAIN !

>>This weekend, on my WindowsXP box at home, I was able to contact a number of web services at xmethods - such as Shakespere Insult Generator, Weather conditions, credit card verification - and it worked perfectly.
>>
>>However, I came into work today, tried to do the same thing on my WinNT box and received an OLE Exception error "0x800a151e".
>>
>>I did install the Soap toolkit from the VFP7 installation CD on my Winnt box. However, this must be built into WindowsXP - because I never installed the toolkit on that machine and it worked fine.
>>
>>Has anyone else had problems trying to contact a Web Service from VFP7 running WinNT? I want to show the boss some cool stuff but can't because of the OLE errors I'm receiving.
>>
>>
>>>Thanks for the info. Is there a web service on xmethods.com that will work? I am trying to demostrate this for my boss. I have already created a WS on my PC and it worked but hitting a web service on some other server would be more impressive.
>>>
>>>Also, someone else who replied said that this Fedx WS worked for him.
>>>
>>>Thanks,
