I know it's a philosophical thing and all, but for my money the registry is already far too cluttered with stuff nothing outside of the owning app needs to know about. IMHO the registry should be reserved for information other applications or the o/s might need to know about the owning app, and this kind of thing (custom colours) should be held in an ini file or a table together with the app itself.
