I have a frequent problem with OE6. It works fine when opened, but after closing OE6, the runtime MSIMN remains open in the task list (sometimes even two copies are running). No problems with IE6; the same OE6 problem occurs whether I'm online/offline or open IE6 or not.

I think it may be normal to keep MSIMN running with OE6 closed for Instant Access, but in any event, the machine (a 98SE) will not shutdown without a drastic ctrl/alt/delete restart unless I first do an End Task on the one or more copies of MSIMN running. Once MSIMN is terminated, shutdown is normal.

But this is not nice behavior.

The various messages of the Wait/End Task window procedural errors on an aborted shutdown attempt with MSIMN open are functions like "OutlookExpressHiddenWindow" or "DBListenProc" or often just a blank procedure. Wait or End Task never works, of course. The lockup is nearly complete (but not quite, since a ctrl/alt/delete will restart).

Anyone seen this?
