given my limited understanding of COM and my requirements, I'll go for the VFPCom method ( maybe others can see benefits using the new method? - please let me know ), I read some more on the new Object browser last night and it seems that, if the Interface has a lightning bolt icon, we can use it, else we can't, what I was looking at doing was, creating base event sinks for connections and recordsets, and using them in my (yet to be written) ADO classes, but it seems you can't even trap the Open event of a recordset, I guess I'll have to make do with the connection Open event, and restrict the recordset functionality from there
