As an x-pb programmer I would agree with you completely in your comparisons and evaluation.
You can set up the format of a textbox the way you want it, as per Barbara's example, then select it and save it useing the "SAVE AS" option. Then choose the class you want to save it to using an appropriate name. Then, anytime you want to use that special textbox just drag it from the class, if it is part of your project file, and drop it onto the form. I have subclassed all of the base classes into my own "base" class, xbasecls, and then added it to the forms toolbar. That way the class doesn't have to be in my project list.
