I have purchased Visual Studio for personal development and work has purchased it for me. at work,
i mostly use visual studio for vfp but occasionally dive into vb & vc++. i've never looked
at java before and havn't had much time to play with interdev.
although i don't use them much, it's nice to have the other languages there at times.
the other developers in my department use the standalone
version of vfp5 since we had purchased several copies before visual studio was released.
i would purchase Visual Studio again and would recommend it to others.
as for dos development. we have a lot of stuff that's still in fox2.5 dos. we do a lot of
maintenance work on the dos stuff and still occasionally put out a new dos app depending on
the situation. our office is not 100% win32 yet.
