While it is true that the general public looks on Memorial Day as the beginning of spring and a lot of towns tend to see Veteran's Day as the same as any other day of the year, Veteran's Day is not overlooked in military towns. However, it is sad that it appears that today only towns located around military bases observe Veteran's Day with any type of special function or remembrance though.
