Yes. Anyone who served in the United States military is a veteran of the military service, regardless of the status of the nation was in relation to war. You go from active duty to veteran when you are discharged. Korea and Viet Nam were not wars. Even so members of the military who served during those periods are veterans. I am not sure about reservist though. :)
