As far as I know, there is no changing path in BtCrit. The problem is, what this one is extremely complicated application with couple of layers. I wrote the top layer (user interface) and my colleague wrote lots of really complicated components in it. Still I don't think, that in either in this components the path settings is changed...
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
