Just got my 8100 - went for the processor price belly of 866mhz but the Ultra 1600x1200 screen - and 320meg - free 32meg Go video.

LOVE IT!

My desktop is a loaded up 8100 Dimension 1.7ghz, 21" monitor -- the Inspiron doesn't seem like that much of a step backwards when I am out of the office. The hirez screen gives you lots of real estate for all your palettes.

Only caveat I've seen is that putting 512meg of Crucial (3rd party) ram in it can cause crashes when playing games.

The 2nd fan is a little loud but doesn't kick in that often. Kind of fun to hear it kick in when you're crunching that 50meg file - kind of takes you back to the old 'pedal to the metal' days.
