We had a lot of Java developers until April 17th of last year! :) .COM Bomb and all that.
In reality there is little development work available in Silicon Valley for programmers using Microsoft development tools compared to Java even today. I have not been to a job fair in a year and at that time the following was noted:
1. 1068 companies at the Santa Clara Convention Center advertising jobs for developers.
2. 2 of these jobs were for Microsoft products - 1 for VB and one for NT 4.0
The remainder were Java jobs.
Again I do not know what it is like today.
