We've done this a lot starting way back with Cybercash and now with Verisign Payflow Link and Payflow Pro. We've found Verisign Payflow Link to be the cheapest and easiest way to add Credit Card processing for all credit cards to a web site and/or web app. You will need to get a merchant account, but, I would advise you to go to Verisign Payment services web site (http://www.verisign.com/products/payflow/index.html) to get all the information you need. Also, IMHO, I would avoid a lot of the smaller outfits doing payment processing if you are serious about doing it - you need a good, stable company such as a Verisign...
