How about using a similar idea, but on an encrypted table distributed with the demo, when the user keys the appropriate code the table is de-crypted update a flag to say this is now a full version, and then re-encrypt. Netlib offers this functionality although I'm not sure of the licencing terms, FoxTalk ran articles about how to code encryption in Fox. Not sure of the issue though .. sorry.
