Yeah, it seems like Java has wandered around to find it's niche. My impression from the publicity that I read is that it's being adopted by a lot of the big iron guys to put a pretty face on mainframe apps. Financial services is big into it.

But, as for Java apps replacing Microsoft Office or doing cool things in browsers on the Internet (as distinguished from Intranet), I think we're still waiting for those 1 terraHertz processesors and universal 1 gig telephone lines. <g>
