You can do that with wwSOAP, although it's not in there now. wwHTTP supports status messages and those could be hooked in as needed. Actually the next version of wwSOAP will include some code to pass in an HTTP object to the soap call so that it's using a custom HTTP object which could then fire the appropriate events.
