>>>I'm trying to convert a VFP 3.0 app to VFP 5.0a. When I try to generate a menu, the whole VFP session is blown away. I made a new menu with only one item, generated it and the same happened. Then I tried a "quick menu" with no changes, generated it, and the session was blown away again. I haven't found anything in help or at Microsofts site (yet); does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

An update. I copied the new genmenu.prg from Microsoft and tried again to no avail; VFP still terminatesl. I also created a blank project per Erik's suggestion and was still blown out of VFP.
I installed VFP 5.0 on my home PC and don't have this problem, it generates the menu okay - at least it seemed too. At home, I also don't have the "Error initalizing Application object" warning that I get at work (see troubleshooting thread "VFP 5.0 Error on Startup"). My PC at work is NT 4.0; home is WIn'95. The work PC aslo has VFP 3.0 installed, home PC only VFP 5.0.
The date of the "new" genmenu program is December 7, 1996. Do I actually have the latest one?
Needless to say I am quite confused.
