Thank you that article was very helpful in unsderstanding what a COM component is. But I am still not sure how to write one. In the article there is an example of what I think I am trying to do. How ever I am not an expert in visual basic. So it all seems a little overwelming. would you reccomend getting visual fox pro for this project. and if so are there any other tools you think i would need such as visual basic.
