Could you describe a little more what you are trying to do. I'll try to modify a simple COM object that I've recently created to suit you a little better. Then I'll send you the code so you can tweak and compile. Be sure that the OLEPUBLIC stays in the code. Also, when you compile, use the Multithreaded DLL option. Or you could read Rick Strahl's article to do that part.

>Thank you that article was very helpful in unsderstanding what a COM component is. But I am still not sure how to write one. In the article there is an example of what I think I am trying to do. How ever I am not an expert in visual basic. So it all seems a little overwelming. would you reccomend getting visual fox pro for this project. and if so are there any other tools you think i would need such as visual basic.
